The Texas Department of Public Safety is among the agencies that are under review this year according to Texas Association of Counties and one of the recommendations is for the DPS to basically put a plan in place to close inefficient driver license offices. Twelve of those happen to be right here in West Texas with 87 closures all together. The closures are just possibilities right now and state representative Brooks Landgraff spoke with officials in Austin last week and said that decisions about the closures were made with old information.

Langraff says that a panel will make the final recommendation on this issue next week in Austin and then all we can do is wait.
