I think one of the biggest tragedies that has happened in the last 10 years to music is the slow demise of your local record shop'

Everyone knows how the downloading of music whether legal or illegal has effected the recording industry but there is another travesty and that is the extinction of the local record shop.

It use to be the place that you could go discover music, sure you can browse the internet for all the latest releases but there is something that you're not experiencing if you have never spent hours in your local record shop sorting through countless releases and in some cases buying an album just based on the album cover.

For me it was the comradery of like minded friends spending time together and then the anticipation of going home to listen to music you took a chance on.

So if you can find one, visit your local record shop buy something because you think it's cool and be surprised, you'll thank yourself
