After 17 years with the San Antonio Spurs, Toner Parker is now saying goodbye. Parker has signed a 2 year deal with the Charlotte Hornets worth $10 million. The Spurs were reportedly trying to bring back Parker in a mentorship role, but the point guard has elected to move on.

Parker did miss some time last year with a quad injury, playing in 55 games, averaging 7.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 1.7 rebounds.

Things seem to be changing quickly for the Spurs who have been able to stay consistently near the top of the Western Conference for almost two decades. Tim Duncan is now long gone, Parker has moved on to the Hornets, Manu Ginobli could still retire before next year, and who knows what is going to happen with Kawhi Leonard.

One thing Gregg Popovich has done very well over his 22 years of coaching the Spurs is getting the most out of the talent he has on the roster. Players will seemingly be past their prime, or weren't able to do much on other teams, but Pop has been able to find a place for them to succeed. These next few seasons might be the most difficult for future Hall of Fame head coach.
