Fans in the city of Buffalo, N.Y., unfortunately missed out on their last chance to see Tommy Lee drumming with Motley Crue at the band's gig on Wednesday night (Oct. 14). Lee was forced to sit out due to injury, so Alice Cooper drummer Glen Sobel was brought in last minute to fill Lee's spot.

Tommy Lee woke up the morning of the show with a nasty flare-up of tendinitis, a painful condition that's very common in longtime drummers. Tommy revealed in a series of tweets that he was under doctors orders to sit out the Buffalo show and heal up:

In comes the man behind Alice Cooper's kit, Glen Sobel. Not only did the drummer have to learn Motley Crue's whole set, but he had to open for Crue, as well. Sobel wrote on Facebook:

So today at 12:30pm I got a call from Motley Crüe management about me filling in for Tommy Lee who has a hurt wrist. After our Alice Cooper set, I rocked a set w/ Crue here in Buffalo, NY. It's been an insane day of prep & making cheat sheets. I can't describe what an honor its been to rock tonight with Vince, Mick, Nikki & Tommy who was handling some of the electronics and cueing me through the in ear monitors from side stage. No- I did not do the Cruecifly drum solo. But I played with the guys for the finale of Home Sweet Home on the hydraulic stage by front of house.
It's one of those things- had I known when I was a kid this would happen one day----you get the picture.
Here's to hoping Tommy Lee's wrist heals up quickly. I'm familiar with the experience of playing though pain while being on tour. It isn't fun.
Thx to all my Alice band mates & crew members (especially Michael Miller & Nick Engle) for making this day run smooth, and of course Alice for having me out on this amazing tour.
See you at the next show!

Motley Crue's Final Tour will spend another few days in North America before heading off to Europe in November. A final stretch of North American shows will take place as 2015 comes to an end, finishing up with a New Year's Eve gig in Los Angeles.
