It's time to start getting excited for the return of Hugh Jackman's most famous character, as 'The Wolverine' will be hitting theaters later this month, and we're getting inundated with new material. Here's the latest scene from the film, which features Logan on the defensive.

This appears to be a sequence after Wolverine has had the operation that the trailers suggest mute or possibly even remove his powers, as he's not as strong as he was before. That doesn't mean he can't jump far and take on the bad guys, though.

Though the film isn't scheduled for release until July 26, right now it feels like audiences are tired of the big action-driven event films, as both 'The Lone Ranger' and 'White House Down' underperformed, while kids films and comedies are currently the big titles at the box office. This is Jackman's sixth go-around as the character, and it's possible audiences are a little tired of seeing him snikt. But perhaps by the end of the month people will be up for a new comic book movie. We shall see. Here's the film's synopsis:

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, "The Wolverine" finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
