Get ready for some doom and gloom, North America! Texas lords of stoner doom the Sword will be leaving their stamp all over the continent as they are set to depart on not one, but two legs of their tour in support of 2015's High Country. The first grouping of dates will boast Royal Thunder as support and England's retro-rock occultists Purson will be handed the torch to open the second slate of cities just three weeks later.

The quartet in the Sword had time to get acquainted with their tourmates on the first leg, Royal Thunder, wrapping up a month-long North American jaunt with the psychedelic rock act last November. With Royal Thunder's second album, Crooked Doors, released last year, the tortured voice of Mlny Parsonz and the meandering guitar lines that collide head-on with charging riffs will serve as a perfect complement to the Sword on this fitting bill. They'll kick everything off on March 20 is Tucson, Ariz. and close it out on the East Coast in Washington D.C. on April 16.

Following a short break, the Sword will refuel their touring engine and bring Purson out for support. The U.K. act made a lasting impression on the ballooning retro-rock scene with their 2013 debut, The Circle and the Blue Door, and have pushed back the release of their follow-up, Desire's Magic Theatre, to April 29 because of the tour. The quintet is fronted by guitarist/singer Rosalie Cunningham who employs a powerful voice capable of driving home forceful moments against their sometimes mellow and hauntingly psychedelic songs. The second leg will begin on May 7 at the Carolina Rebellion festival. It comes to a conclusion in Dallas on May 28.
