‘The Flash’ Trailer: CW’s First Teaser Runs Circles Around ‘Arrow’ Finale

Look out ‘Arrow‘, there’s a new superhero on the block! ‘The Flash‘ has officially been ordered to series for The CW this fall, and to prove it, tonight’s ‘Arrow’ season 2 finale “Unthinkable” debuted the fastest man alive in his his first official footage from DC’s ‘The Flash.’ See the scarlet speedster in action right now, but don’t blink, or you’ll miss it!

Presumably we’re not actually seeing any footage from the series, despite having filmed a pilot episode, but we do get a very playful look at Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen introducing Grant Gustin‘s Barry Allen, as Oliver fires an arrow that the scarlet speedster manages to intercept before it can hit its target. Oliver accuses Barry of showing, off, before aiming three arrows for the fastest man alive to outrun. Game on, indeed.

Greenlit for (at least) 13 episodes, ‘The Flash’ has cast Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells and Candice Batton as Iris West, daughter to Jesse L. Martin’s Detective West, along with Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, better known as DC character Vibe. ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ star Rick Cosnett will portray Central City Police transfer Detective Eddie Thawne, while Danielle Panabaker plays Caitlin Snow, a highly intelligent bioengineering expert and an early incarnation of DC villain Killer Frost. Original ‘Flash’ star John Wesley Shipp will also appear in the ‘Arrow’ spinoff as well, though producers aren’t divulging the details of his role just yet.

Well, what do we think? Will ‘The Flash’ leave ‘Arrow’ in the dust, even after the devastation of tonight’s “Unthinkable” finale? Watch the teaser again above, and give us your first reactions to ‘The Flash’ footage in the comments!
