Sometimes when a friend, family member or brother has fallen down, you can't seem to grab any words that might help the situation. Yesterday, I got to read a letter written by a man that I have never met before and only heard stories about. It left me wanting to share some simple thoughts by Mr. Keith Tyler.

A man who I consider my brother would tell me stories about Keith Tyler and he would laugh -- and I'm talking loud laughter about that man. When Keith Tyler finally had to make the journey that we all have to face one day, he left behind a letter that was read out loud in public only once.

When I was given the letter, it was in the exact same place it was when it was tucked away over five years ago and the words couldn't be any more special.

As I read this letter, I would look at my friend from time to time and I could see he was filled with sadness, joy, anger, laughter and every other emotion someone would have when remembering that person.

When he finished reading the letter, he said that whenever it was read out loud it left people scratching their head. They had to ask if the letter was written for them or had anything to do with them. Well, they obviously they didn't understand.

What I took from that letter was this: A man can have many, many acquaintances, but if you can count the friends you have on one hand then you are truly blessed.

Stop to enjoy this world and what it has to offer and, from the stories I heard, he enjoyed this life on two wheels. Life is fast enough with everybody wanting to be in big damn hurry. Slow down, go visit that old friend you haven't seen in a while, or if you're taking a trip, pull over to a rest area, look around and enjoy that moment.

The letter wasn't very long -- maybe 10-15 separate lines -- but every one of them came from a man who, from my understanding, just did what made sense to him and never looked back.

Cheers, Keith Tyler -- I'll be shaking your hand one day and thanking you for reminding us that: "Boys And Girls, Just remember it's not about the destination it's about the journey"
