Authorities in Big Spring, Texas are investigating a video on social media showing a police officer arresting a woman and dragging her to the police car.

Police in Big Spring, Texas have opened an internal investigation after a video on social media went viral showing the arrest of a woman made over the weekend.

In the video posted to Facebook, you can see a police officer arrested a woman and attempting to get her to stand. Eventually, you see the officer dragging the woman, who has her hands cuffed behind her back, to the squad car.

The woman who posted the video commented saying that the woman being arrested kept yelling that she was pregnant, although that can't be confirmed by us. Since the video began circulating online, the Big Spring Chief of Police Chad Williams released this statement on the arrest:

"On the 23rd of September 2017, the Big Spring Police Department was made aware of an incident involving one of our officers. We have viewed a social media video that shows our officer making an arrest on an adult female and then pulling her to the side of his police unit. Chief of Police, Chad Williams has initiated an internal administrative investigation of the incident. Due to this being an active investigation we are unable to comment any further at this time."

 

The videos have now been viewed over a combined 125,000 times and been shared hundreds of times.  No further information has been released regarding the woman and her arrest.
