Survey Says: 12 Ways a Wait Staff Handles Rude Customers
If you are rude to your wait staff, a new survey has found that one in 16 will spit in your food.
Science Daily has the results of a new survey of 430 food servers, hosts, and bartenders where they were asked how they handle rude customers, here are the top 12:
- Making fun of customers behind their backs, 79%.
- Lying, 78%.
- Purposely making them wait longer for their order, 65%.
- Ignoring them, 61%.
- Being rude right back to them, 52%.
- Arguing, 43%.
- Refusing a perfectly reasonable request, 25%.
- Confronting them about tips, 19%.
- Insulting them, 14%.
- Increasing their tip without permission, 11%.
- Doing something gross to their food, 6%.
- Threatening them, 5%.
So keep that in mind next time you feel the need to be rude to your waiter or waitress.
