Stupid Criminals: Shoplifter Caught After He Crashes and Loses His Bumper With His License Plate Still Attached

In this edition of Stupid Criminals, we find a man who crashes his car only to leave the bumper with his license plate still attached behind.

According to Northwest Florida Daily News, 20-year-old Devin Stokes of Augusta, Georgia was in Mary Esther, Florida last week, and stole a $300 purse from a mall.  Then he sped off in his car.

He was driving so fast, he managed to get away from the police who were chasing him, but he was driving so crazy, he also smashed into a mailbox on the way.  He lost his bumper in the process, but just kept on going.

That was a huge mistake because his license plate was still attached to the bumper.  So police found it, ran the plates, and headed right to his house to arrest him.

He was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude an officer, and larceny over $100.
