Midland Man Assaults Woman After a Bar Fight

In this edition of Stupid Criminals, we find a local man who assaults a woman after they get into a fight at a local bar.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Joshua Gaskin was charged with assault against a family or house member and choking, a third-degree felony.

The two went to a residence in Midland Wednesday morning after the two had a verbal altercation at a local bar. At the residence is where the fight escalated, according to the arrest affidavit.

Gaskin "chest bumped," kicked, and choked her, preventing her from screaming according to the report.

The woman locked herself in the bathroom where she contacted police.

Gaskin was arrested soon after police arrived and was still being held as of Thursday evening. No bond amount had been set at that time.

If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison.
