Stupid Criminals: Man Assaults Girlfriend For Reading Her Ex’s Obituary

I understand being annoyed if your girlfriend's been texting her ex, or stalking him on Facebook, but this is a bit much.

According to The Smoking Gun, a 38-year-old guy named Jason Tackett was sitting on the couch with his girlfriend last Thursday at her house in Bradenton, Florida.

He asked what she was looking at on her phone and she wouldn't tell him, so he grabbed it from her, and found out she was reading something about her ex and he flipped out.

Turns out it was her ex-boyfriend's obituary.

So Tackett started trashing her house, and then tried to suffocate her.  She managed to get away, and got a neighbor to call 911.

He is facing charges for domestic battery by strangulation.
