WTF? Someone Edited All the ‘Star Wars’ Dialogue in Alphabetical Order

During a week when everyone is excited over some fairly benign ‘Star Wars: Episode 7‘ set pics (which you can see here and here!), it shouldn’t really surprise us that someone reedited the original ‘Star Wars‘ so all the dialogue is in alphabetical order, yet still…

Posted yesterday, the editor (Tom 7) notes that he actually used software he created specifically for this purpose. “This purpose” being alphabetizing all the dialogue in a ‘Star Wars’ movie.

A few fun facts from the video:

- The word “lightsaber” only appears once in this film.
- The most common word is “the”, of course, said 368 times.
- There are 1695 different words, and 11684 total words.
- The longest words are “responsibility,” “malfunctioning”, “worshipfulness”, and “identification”, all 14 letters.

At over 43 minutes, it’s an, uh, interesting watch; highly entertaining in a completely bizarre and hypnotic way.

Instinctually, it’s easy to say, “What the f*** is wrong with people?” or “What is wrong with my life that I just spent 43 minutes watching this?” but then you realize there’s some genius to something this random (not to mention the work that went into putting all this together). Obsessing over ‘Star Wars’ in such a specific and non-essential way is just what we do. While everyone is poring over ‘Star Wars: Episode 7′ construction photos for clues, there’s something peaceful about listening to “FORCE FORCE FORCE FORCE FORCE FORCE FORCE FORCE” over and over again.

After all, WTF rearranged in alphabetical order is FTW.
