After a six year gap between studio albums,  have returned with a vengeance. The band's new disc, '.5: The Gray Chapter,' has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 131,000 copies. It's the band's second consecutive trip to the top of the chart. 2008's 'All Hope Is Gone' also topped the Billboard 200.

'.5: The Gray Chapter' is a worldwide success, also debuting at No. 1 in Japan, Australia, Canada, Russia and Switzerland. It had Top 5 debuts in the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Austria, New Zealand, Mexico, Denmark and Finland.

The album has been receiving a lot of critical praise. Our own review reads, "While ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ definitely rocks and pummels you in all the right places like you would hope, it also shows a depth in emotion and some heavily personal moments on a much grander scale, as well."

This is Slipknot's first album following the death of Paul Gray, and in a recent interview with Larry King, frontman  talked about what he thinks Gray would think about the record.

“I think he would’ve loved it,” Taylor said. “I mean, it’s essentially the story of the last four years, dealing with the aftermath of his death and all of us trying to kind of get back to a place where we wanted to make music again.”

After wrapping up Knotfest last weekend, Slipknot embark on the 'Prepare For Hell' tour tonight (Oct. 29) with Korn and King 810 in El Paso, Texas.
