Oh to be a fly on the wall when Slash, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators get together to lay down new music. Well now you can be, as the guitar great and his band are teaming with the Ernie Ball company to provide fans with a new online series titled 'Real to Reel With Slash.'

The series takes viewers inside the studio as the band lays down the music for their next album, with Myles Kennedy, Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz offering insights into the recording of the new album along with Slash. The band has been splitting their time between NRG Studios in Los Angeles and Studio Barbarossa in Florida as they write, play, create and record their new album.

The first episode, which just went live, has Fitz primarily providing the narrative. The clip, which finds the drummer discussing the band's approach to recording the new album, can be seen above. A new episode will appear weekly, giving viewers up-to-date and virtually real-time progress reports as the recording journey continues.

"I love the process of recording live in the studio and the sound of a rock 'n' roll band recorded on 2-inch tape as opposed to digital," says Slash. "I thought it would be cool to show some footage of us doing exactly that." Slash and his band are currently working on the follow-up to the successful 'Apocalyptic Love' album. For future 'Real to Reel' episodes, be sure to stay tuned to Slash's website.
