Within the past nine days, late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has been the subject of massive news reports. 20 years after Cobain's death, Seattle police chose to develop 35mm footage of the death scene and release some of those never-before-seen images to the public. After revealing nine new images yesterday (March 28), even more photos are now seeing the light of day.

It was reported on March 20 that Seattle police were reviewing Cobain's suicide case in anticipation for the 20th anniversary of the frontman's demise (April 5, 2014). With the original review, one picture of Cobain's heroin kit was released, but on March 28, fans were flooded with nine new images of the Nirvana legend's death scene.

An additional six images have just been released by Seattle police, five of which come from the 35mm footage. One photo is a Polaroid, which police backed up their 35mm film with as a precaution.

Although many never-before-seen picture have been unveiled, Detective Mike Ciesynski tells KIRO 7 that no photos of Kurt Cobain's body will be released. “What are people going to gain from seeing pictures of Kurt Cobain laying on the ground with his hair blown back, with blood coming out of his nose and trauma to his eyes from a penetrating shotgun wound?" asks Ciesynski. "How’s that going to benefit anybody?"
