It’s almost amazing to think that at this point Simon Pegg hasn’t starred in a Steven Spielberg film, but that’s all about to change. Pegg is currently in talks to join the cast of Spielberg’s Ready Player One, which already has Tye Sheridan (X-Men: Apocalypse), Olivia Cooke (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) and Ben Mendelsohn (Star Wars: Rogue One) set to star.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pegg would star as Orgen Morrow, the co-creator of a virtual world where a teen (Sheridan) is competing in a treasure hunt to find an easter egg hidden by a Howard Hughes-ian inventor that would leave the victor his vast fortune. But, there are those willing to kill to track down the prize.

While it’s the first time Pegg will appear in a Spielberg movie, it’s not the first time the two will work together. The director voiced a role in Pegg’s 2011 movie Paul.

Pegg has a busy schedule coming up with Star Trek Beyond, which he also wrote, opening theaters this summer, plus roles in Star Wars: Episode 8 and Mission: Impossible 6 also in the works. Filming on Ready Player One is expected to begin this June.

Ready Player One is set to open in theaters on March 30, 2018.
