For the last few months, it's felt like Red Hot Chili Peppers have been doing a lot of things other than working on a new album. Chad Smith recently took part in an epic drum battle with Will FerrellFlea signed a deal to write his autobiography and found time to record with a new project called Antemasque; and the band also played (or not) at the Super Bowl. But quietly the Chili Peppers have been working on new music and it's finally resulted in a trip into the studio.

A new Instagram video has surfaced online featuring members of the band working on music in the studio. While there is music to be heard in the video, it's a quick hitting clip that shows the studio board, speakers, Chad Smith nodding his head, Flea working out some bass and other assorted shots from the studio. Little can be gleaned from the brief music snippets heard, but the good news is that the band is back in the studio.

You can check out the video post below:

The last time all four Chili Peppers members were spotted together was on 'The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.' During Chad Smith's drum battle with Will Ferrell the three other members of the band came to Ferrell's aid to rock some classic Blue Oyster Cult.

The follow-up to 'I'm With You' will be the band's 11th studio album.
