Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme Says He’d Consider Playing Grammys Again

)

Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age recently sat down for a fan Q&A with Australia’s Fasterlouder.com. Some of the questions he answered (watch above) included the Grammys, the Kyuss lawsuit, the possibility of another Desert Sessions album and his favorite ice cream flavor.

At this year’s Grammy debacle, closing credits and sponsors were shown over the show-ending all-star jam with Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl, Nine Inch Nails and Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. Afterward, NIN frontman Trent Reznor declared he’d never play the Grammys again. On top of that, Homme lashed out at the Grammys during a recent show. However, the QOTSA frontman isn’t ruling out playing the awards show again if the opportunity arose.

He says (transcription via ThePRP), “I’d play anywhere. I don’t care about the drama. I got misunderstood for something I said when I was reacting to someone in the audience recently—not to mention I was really drunk. But the truth is that I’m a musician, I play my music. I don’t really worry about the rest, I don’t think it’s necessary to worry or sweat the rest of this stuff. ‘Just go and play your music’, I go play my music.”

Homme continues: “I don’t like to be disrespected, but nobody likes that, ya know? Yeah, if they got their s–t together, maybe. I’m in a band, I go play music wherever I’m supposed to go play. You can’t sweat this other stuff. It’s not that big of a deal.”

Meanwhile, it has been more than a decade since the last Desert Sessions musical collective have released material, and Homme doesn’t dismiss the possibility of more music in the future. “I’d love to do more Desert Sessions,” Homme says. “It’s just been difficult because of having a lot of music go on already—between the Eagles of Death Metal and Queens and Them Crooked Vultures.”
