Public Restrooms Are No Filthier Than Your Bathroom at Home

It might come as a shock to most, but that public restroom is no worse bacteria-wise than your bathroom at home.

According to Science Daily, a new study out of San Diego State University found that public bathrooms really aren't any filthier than your bathroom at home.

Yes, most public bathrooms are probably messier and smell worse, but as far as bacteria, public bathrooms and home bathrooms are almost identical.

Both bathrooms provide the same kind of environment for bacteria, so the ones that die quickly will die quickly in both, and the ones that live longer will live longer in both.

The researchers also found bacteria from feces account for less than 15% of the germs in both public and private bathrooms, the main bacteria come from skin.
