Psychologist Gives a Hooker His Laptop With Confidential Information on it as Collateral

This psychologist will have a hard time getting new clients and keeping his current ones after this incident.

According to the Seattle Times, 46-year-old Sunil Kakar, a psychologist in Gig Harbor, Washington, decided to have sex with a prostitute and realized he didn't have enough cash to pay for the services.

He gave her his laptop as collateral as he left to go to an ATM to get more cash. The hooker didn't wait around for him to return and ran off with his laptop which had confidential patient information on his more the 650 patients.

He reported the laptop as stolen a week later, and cops tracked it to a pawn shop that day.

It is not clear if the prostitute went through the confidential information or not, but she should not have even had the option.  Kakar's license has since been suspended by the Washington Department of Health.

He has a hearing later this month and will possibly have to go through more education and pay fines to have his license reinstated.  He is not currently being charged for prostitution.
