Prometheus 2 Coming in 2016 With Lots and Lots of Michael Fassbender

20th Century Fox

The follow-up to 2012′s ‘Prometheus,’ the ‘Alien’ prequel that everyone involved says wasn’t, is in the works and scheduled for a March 4, 2016 opening.

And while details are being closely guarded (just like they were for the first film), we hope you like Michael Fassbender. Apparently, there’s going to be lots more of him in this movie.

Sources claim that Fassbender’s character, the android David, will be featured in multiple roles this time around. If you remember from the first ‘Prometheus,’ David wasn’t in very good shape by the end of it. One of the giant, pissed-off aliens basically tore him in half. But he could still talk. Boy, could he talk …

So as Noomi Rapace and Fassbender’s head drifted into the alien wilderness in search of new adventures (actually, they were searching for the planet where the menacing engineers got their start), it essentially left a huge opening for a sequel.

And that’s what writer Michael Green (who worked on that awful ‘Green Lantern’ movie and ‘Prometheus’ director Ridley Scott’s new ‘Blade Runner’) is now putting together. The Wrap says Green was brought in to make ‘Pometheus 2′ (not its real title, but that’s what everyone’s calling it for now) “more ‘Alien’-y,” which may not necessarily be a good thing.

‘Prometheus’ was a bit slow-going at times, but the intellectual heart of the film was a perfect lead-in to the climatic finale. We don’t need the guy who made a Ryan Reynolds character even more unlikable messing that up with too much action.
