As we all know gas prices have gone down in the past couple of weeks, but after a trip to Lubbock this past weekend you can see that gas prices in the Permian Basin are much higher than other places.  When I went to fill up to come home I was paying 30 cents less than I was once I got home with gas prices in Lubbock ranging between 3.07 and 3.11.  But here gas prices are ranging from 3.27 to 3.44.  I have yet to figure out how that can be when we have refineries in Odessa and Big Spring, but it has been that way for years.  I can remember when I was going to Lubbock to visit friends going to Tech back in the 80's that gas prices in Lubbock were always about 10 to 15 cents cheaper than they were here.  Guess the farther you have to deliver gas the easier it is and just filling up a tanker and going a few blocks requires much more.
