Two parents are in legal trouble after their four-month-old baby was found to have cocaine in her system.

Krystin Rae Lisaius, 26, and her husband, Som Lisaius, 46, who have both worked as reporters in Tucson, Ariz., rushed the baby to a hospital on May 15 because the child appeared sluggish and wasn't eating.

The couple would not allow a blood test, but a urine test revealed cocaine in the baby's system. The parents then admitted to doing cocaine the night before, with Krystin saying she breastfed the baby 12 hours later, but didn't think it would harm the child.

Police say they found less than two grams of a "white powder or white residue," as well as other drug paraphernalia in their home.

Krystin and Som were indicted on charges of possession of a dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia and child abuse. They both pleaded not guilty to child abuse charges.

The baby is currently living with a grandmother.

"It would be a gross, gross injustice (with) even the mention of prison time," said the couple's lawyer. "I anticipate they will demonstrate that they have learned a very hard, embarrassing lesson and that this will become a footnote in their life, not a chapter."
