The Wild West is still very wild.

A re-enactment of the gunfight at the O.K. Corral looked eerily like the real thing when one of the actors was hit by an actual bullet Sunday in Tombstone, Ariz during a performance by a group known as the Tombstone Vigilantes.

Actor Tom Carter was running late and didn't have his gun properly inspected, so during the performance he wound up shooting Ken Curtis in the groin when they got in a tussle. Curtis immediately dropped to the ground and had to be flown to a hospital to remove the bullet. The show ended right after the bullet struck him.

Authorities say there was a live round in the cylinder and a woman who was watching the show was also hit, as were a pair of nearby businesses. That woman refused medical treatment.

The Tombstone Vigilantes will suspend all shows until an investigation into the matter is wrapped up.

The marshal's office addressed the accident afterward, saying, "Tombstone takes pride in the safety and security of its townspeople and tourists alike and the citizens of Tombstone can be assured that stringent safety protocol will be enforced prior to allowing any further gunfight skits."

Video of the actual incident has not surfaced, but you can see what the show looks like in the clip below.
