It was dubbed the “Fight of the Century” beforehand, but the overwhelming consensus is that Saturday night’s highly anticipated boxing match between unbeaten champion Floyd Mayweather and the sentimental favorite Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas did not live up to the hype.

One of those not exactly happy with the match and how it went down was Nikki Sixx who tweeted about the experience in a series of posts. Like many, Sixx was a Pacquiao fan, stating that he was rooting for the boxer who was “the underdog in life.”

But as the fight went on, Sixx expressed his frustration at watching Mayweather’s strategy which was to tire Pacquiao down by continually moving about the ring and strategically taking his shots rather than going toe to toe with the boxer in a slugfest. Many boxing fans had hoped for the latter outcome as well and felt the match was a boring viewing experience as Pacquiao was continually in pursuit of Mayweather while he danced about the ring. Given the pricey $100 pay-per-view fee, the Motley Crue bassist was among many not happy with what the fight provided. Check out Sixx’s tweets on the fight below.

There was another unsatisfied rocker, but KISS singer-guitarist Paul Stanley‘s main issue came before the initial opening bell. The rock star tweeted about the National Anthem as performed by actor-singer Jamie Foxx. Stanley called out the movie star for putting his own stamp on the performance and straying from the traditional arrangement. His tweet reads as follows:

So, those of you who tuned in to the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, what are your thoughts? Is Sixx right in his assessment of the match? Did you feel cheated by the $100 pay-per-view event? Does Stanley have a point about the performance of Foxx’s National Anthem? Offer your thoughts in the Comments section at the bottom of this post.
