Adrian Peterson's latest trouble just adds to a franchise that has had more players in trouble with the law since 2000.

The New York Times has crunched the numbers on NFL player arrests over the past 15 years.  Here are some highlights from their data:

The Minnesota Vikings, have had 44 players arrested, cited or charged since 2000, that's the most in the NFL.

The Cincinnati Bengals are a close second with 43, followed by the Denver Broncos with 40.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Arizona Cardinals, the Houston Texans and the St. Louis Rams are tied for the fewest, with 11 apiece.

The most common arrest is for driving under the influence.  In the past 15 years, 202 players have had reported DUIs.

Assault and battery is next with 88, followed by domestic violence, which 85 players have gotten in trouble for.

There have also been 10 players charged with sexual assault.

The number of players arrested has been fairly consistent over the past 10 years, with an average of more than 50 per year.

Interestingly enough, 2014 is on track to have the fewest number of arrests since 2000.

Through September 10th, there have so far been 21 NFL arrests, which put the league on pace to see 28 by the end of the year.

The previous low over the past 15 years came in 2004, when 36 players were arrested.
