For the first time Midland and Odessa firefighters will be doing the "Fill the Boot" campaign for West Texas and Permian Basin MDA on the same three days to celebrate their 60-year partnership.

Over 100 members of each fire department will be at various locations in Midland and Odessa starting today, May 7th, and continuing through Friday, May 9th.

Here are the intersections they will be collecting donations:

Midland: (Collecting between 9:00am-6:00pm)

  • Midland Drive & Loop 250
  • Midland Drive & Andrews Hwy.
  • Midkiff & Wadley
  • Garfield & Golf Course

Odessa: (Collecting between 8:30am-5:30pm)

  • 8th & Dixie
  • 42nd & Tanglewood
  • 42nd & Andrews Hwy.

The annual "Fill the Boot" campaign goes to help out local children and adults affected by the muscle disease throughout West Texas and the Permian Basin area.  This also includes sending children affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases to a weeklong, barrier-free MDA summer camp at Ceta Canyon in Happy, TX.

Make sure you get out to these intersections sometime over the next three days and help out this worthy cause.
