Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' will have plenty of pieces to pick up after the fallout of this past weekend's 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' apart from its own ongoing storyline, but at least one major star will be popping up sooner than we think. Having guested in the second episode, Samuel L. Jackson will return as Nick Fury in the May 13 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' finale, but what does it mean for the Marvel Universe going forward?

We'll do our best to tread lightly around plot elements of 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' but given some of the spoilery memes running around today, it might prove a bit difficult. In any case, Vulture managed to talk to Jackson in New York recently, wherein the actor confirmed that he'd shot another 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' appearance as Nick Fury, saying "I just shot the end-of-the-season show."

You're warned of spoilers from here on out, but thus far 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' has kept Fury offscreen and unavailable for the majority of the season as Coulson searched for answers to his mysterious resurrection. Last week's "End of the Beginning" flatly confirmed that Fury had returned from undercover, and would await Coulson's arrival at the Triskelion, but suffice to say, that meeting seems to have been put on hold.

Of course, the events of 'The Winter Soldier' throw into question the entire operation of S.H.I.E.L.D., let alone what role Nick Fury could potentially have going forward, or whatever brings him into Coulson's path. "[The movie] ties into the TV show," Jackson said. "They wanted to tie that up."

Well, what do you think? Could Sam Jackson's Nick Fury have a major part to play in the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' finale, even as the series itself awaits a season 2 renewal? How might the 'Avengers'-adjacent series pick up after the S.H.I.E.L.D. shockers of 'The Winter Soldier?' Check out a new featurette on the subject below, and give us your take in the comments!
