We all know bag fees can suck. It seems to be a way for the airlines to take even more money from you for something you need... your luggage! So a man from London came up with an idea. Put on all your clothes for the flight, and avoid the bag fee.

Ryan Carney Williams, Twitter handle RYAN_HAWAII, was held at Keflavik Airport in Iceland after he tried to board a British Airways flight while wearing 8 pairs of pants and 10 shirts in an attempt to skirt the baggage fee. He then tried to board an easyJet flight, but was banned from that flight as well when the staff was informed of his plan to beat the baggage fee.

Williams had purchased a "hand bag only" ticket, which he was allowed a small carry on. The airline responded with:

“Our hand baggage only fares from Iceland are as low as £47 each way and are designed for customers who are traveling without any hold baggage. We do understand that our customers' plans can change so they can choose to pay a fee at the airport if they need an extra bag. We explained our policy to our customer and arranged an alternative flight to London.”

You will notice that Williams tried to pull the race card in one of his tweets. Sorry bud, no. It's not racial profiling. It's a guy trying to avoid baggage fees by wearing all of his clothes. They'd do this to anyone of any race. Now, he was booked for another easyJet flight the following day, but was denied on that flight as well. The airline responded with:

"The captain and the ground crew were concerned about reports from the previous day so we provided a refund and he travelled with another airline."

Ultimately, Williams made it home. Was what he did wrong? I'm not sure. But I know there have been people who have wanted to try this and quite frankly he had the balls to do it. So I applaud him for that. But seriously, leave the race card at home next time. You aren't doing civil rights any help by jumping to that conclusion.
