Ride-hailing app Lyft is doing their part to help people get to the polls on election day. Find out how you can get a discounted or free ride to vote. Lyft wants to help people to get out there and vote in the elections this November by getting them to the polls. According to the Pew Research Center, nonvoters are usually less affluent than voters. One way that this could affect a person's ability to vote is the lack of transportation they may have to get to the polls.

To try and get more people out to vote, ride-sharing app Lyft wants to do their part. Lyft is offering discounted rides to people so they can get to their local polling spot, by partnering with organizations like Vote.org and Turbo Vote. There will be a nationwide 50% code people can use to get to the polls and an even better deal for some voting areas! Some nonprofit groups like Vote Latino will be donating so some underserved regions can receive FREE RIDES to the polls. According to Lyft spokesperson Kate Margolis, discounts will be offered in areas where Lyft is available but the free ride exact regions will be announced closer to the midterm elections. We will update you as soon as more information is available! You can also register to vote in Texas here or nationwide here.
