A local animal rescue is asking for donations for a pug that was found severely injured with chemical burns on her head and body. The El Paso Pug Rescue is asking for donations to help with a pug the rescue has recently taken in that was found with serious medical issues. The pug was found as a stray and turned over to the City of El Paso Animal Services. The dog had severe chemical burn injuries and was turned over to the El Paso Pug Rescue. The President of the El Paso Pug Rescue, Amanda Herrera, spoke to us about the extent of her injuries:

"She came in with chemical burns on top of her head and running down towards her left eye. Her left eye is severely damaged and needs to be removed, but unfortunately she is also suffering from other issues that don't allow her to have the surgery yet. The lady pug also has pneumonia and will not be eligible for surgery until she has recovered from her illness. She also has severe chemical burns on the back of her body as well. Due to the fact she came in as a stray, we have no idea who did this to her or what happened. We're just trying to do our best to save her life."

The little pug, named Misty, has been struggling in the week she has been in the rescue but continues to put up a good fight for her life. She was put into the emergency vet last night but made it through the evening and is still showing signs of wanting to live. As long as she keeps fighting, the El Paso Pug Rescue will keep fighting for her too. If you would like to donate to help the El Paso Pug Rescue for Misty mounting medical bills, please check out their Facebook Donation campaign. People can also call in donations to the East El Paso Animal Hospital at (915) 593-1712. Just let them know it's for Misty and the El Paso Pug Rescue. Please help them save the life of a little pug in need.
