The buzz continues to build for the upcoming Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck documentary that's set to premiere on HBO May 4. To whet your appetite in the lead up to the television airing, a new trailer for the documentary has surfaced online.

In the promo, seen above, you get a look at home movies from Cobain's youth and adulthood, old photos, journal entries, animation used to tell the story, and of course plenty of interviews.

The trailer for the Brett Morgen-directed film includes some familiar faces like Cobain's Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic and his widow Courtney Love, as well as his mother Wendy O'Connor, sister Kim Cobain and ex-girlfriend Tracy Mirander. It also shows the determination that Cobain had when it came to his music, as told through the voices of the people that knew him best.

As has previously been reported, there will be newly unearthed music appearing in the film. Morgen recently tweeted that he was listening to a "mind-blowing 12-minute acoustic Cobain unheard track" that will be part of the film.

Circle it on your calendar and remember to check in May 4 for the television premiere of Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck on HBO.
