‘King of the Hill’ Could Be Returning to Fox
I almost moved to Texas long before I moved to El Paso. Back in 2003 I flew to San Antonio. I was meeting a man by the name of Kevin Vargas, who through a long chain of people, ended up with my demo and wanted to hire me somewhere in his company. I didn't end up getting that job in San Antonio, but it did lay the groundwork for me to ultimately wind up in Texas.
Rather than moving to San Antonio, I ended up working for Kevin in South Florida. After a station flip in 2010, and a couple of job changes, Kevin ended up hiring me to be the producer of The Buzz Adams Morning Show. And even though I didn't end up in San Antonio, something stuck with me from that first meeting with Kevin. He asked if I watched King of the Hill. I never really got into the show but he told me flat out "That's Texas. It might be a bit of a satirical look at Texas. But a lot of it is true."
Well, that show could be back on Fox. Even though it's very early, Fox Television Group chairman and CEO Dana Walden said:
"We had a very preliminary conversation given what's going on in the country; they had a point of view about how those characters would respond. But again, it was one meeting and I hope to revisit it."
King of the Hill was on the air from 1997 to 2009, covering 13 seasons and more than 250 episodes.
