After all the negative press about MoviePass, it's not surprising many are looking to get out of their MoviePass membership. Here's how you can too. Starting Wednesday, there will be big changes coming to MoviePass, and many members aren't too excited about it. There has always been a lot of rules to using a MoviePass account- need a smartphone, one pass per person, non-transferable tickets, something about signing on in the parking lot according to Buzz, but even more have come about. Now you can only see 3 movies a month, the cost will most likely go up 50% to 14.95 a month by the end of August, and "peak-pricing" is being implemented for high demand movies, days and even times. The actual showtimes being offered by MoviePass are changing and will change day to day, according to MoviePass CEO Mitch Lowe. The CEO argues that the majority of Movie Pass subscribers go to less than 3 movies a month. Only 15% see more than that with their MoviePass membership. Still, this news hasn't sat well with many MoviePass subscribers.

After all the negative press about MoviePass, it's not surprising many are looking to get out of their MoviePass membership. But many people took to Twitter to complain, saying that they were having trouble hitting the "Cancel" button to quit their account. Worry not, Business Insider says there is a simple solution as to why the button isn't working for some. Many don't realize that the "Reason For Cancellation" bar is actually a drop-down menu. You have to click the "Reason For Cancellation" bar then choose an option. From there, the "Cancel" button should work for you. In case you need step-by-step directions:

  • Hit the account button on the app's home screen
  • Choose "Account Details"
  • Go to "Plan and Billing Info" (located next to what your monthly plan is)
  • Click the "Cancel" button
  • Click "Reason for Cancellation" and choose an option
  • From there, you have the option to write a detailed reason you are leaving the service. This is not required.
  • Hit "Cancel Subscription" button

That's it! You are now unsubscribed from the MoviePass service. For those of you who are still holding out hope that things will get better, check out here some of the new caps on the service.
