Men and women look at intamacy differently, and according to one psychologist, women typically get it wrong.  Women think of intimacy and self disclosure as the same thing, but they are not.  Psychologist Dr. Jane Adams says women expect too much from intimacy.  She says, "Intimacy isn't a state that you always have.  It's something that comes and goes in a relationship."  Perhaps the worst way to get a man to open up and share his feelings is to ask him to.  Typically us guys do express how we feel, but in our own way.  This is usually NOT when asked, "So what are you feeling?"  Dr. Adams concludes with this advice for women:

listen rather than probe.
