Guitarists Eddie Van Halen + Tom Morello Contribute to LL Cool J’s Upcoming Album
Rapper LL Cool J is apparently ready to "call it a comeback," rocking things out on his upcoming album. Earlier this week, the emcee and Grammy host posted a pair of photos featuring himself in the studio sitting at the console with guitar legend Eddie Van Halen.
After a little bit of teasing that a collaboration was in the works, Van Halen News Desk confirmed that Van Halen would appear on guitar on a song for LL Cool J's forthcoming disc, 'Authentic.' The rapper actually revealed the collaboration during an appearance in Austin at the South by Southwest music conference. He explained that not only would Van Halen be part of his record, but he also threw out the names of Tom Morello and Snoop Dogg (now Snoop Lion) as contributors.
It's unknown what track Van Halen will appear on, but it's likely that Morello will appear on 'Whaddup,' the song that LL debuted during the Grammy broadcast back in February. The Grammy performance included guest appearances from Public Enemy's Chuck D., Blink-182's Travis Barker and DJ Z-Trip in addition to the Rage Against the Machine guitarist.
LL Cool J's 'Authentic' album is due April 30. The disc is currently available for pre-order here.
