Bassist Duff McKagan is ramping up to the May 12 release of his new book, How To Be a Man (and Other Illusions), and he's got a little bonus in store for fans. The rocker has put together a three-song EP sharing the book's title that will also be released on May 12.

The disc features McKagan and special guests Izzy Stradlin, Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell, Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga and Burden Brothers drummer Taz Bentley. McKagan recently tweeted about the collaboration with Stradlin and Bentley. The disc will be available for pre-order beginning May 5.

As for the book, How To Be a Man is the follow-up to McKagan's memoir, It's So Easy (and Other Lies). The page-turner is currently available for pre-order through Amazon. The new book shares some of McKagan's wisdom he's gained over the years, dealing in everything from relationships to travel tips.

Some of the highlights of the book include a missive with Ben Gibbard on whether or not it's possible to have seen a million faces and rocked them all, anecdotes on Gene Simmons and Perry Farrell, reflections on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction and reuniting with Axl Rose onstage and his list of albums every man should listen to and books they should read.

McKagan is also hitting the road for a book signing tour during the month of May. It begins May 11 at Bookends in Ridgewood, N.J., and continues through May 22 at Los Angeles' Book Soup. See the dates below.
