A couple of months ago, a 55-year-old woman in Jackson, Tennessee went to the doctor because of her back pain, and he diagnosed it as lumbar lordosis, but didn't call it that to her.

Lumbar lordosis is a curve in the spine which causes a lot of pain and makes your butt stick out.

WREG-TV in Memphis reports the doctor, Timothy Sweo, did not tell her the condition in technical terms but instead decided to use slang terms to make it easier for the patient to understand.

The patient, Terry Raglan, was told by Dr. Sweo that she suffered from having a "ghetto booty" which did not sit well with Ms. Raglan since she is black and Dr. Sweo is white.

Dr. Sweo said, "In trying to explain, I said that she had ghetto booty and she didn't like that apparently.

"I think I do understand why her feelings were hurt, but I don't understand what's offensive about it."

Raglan has now filed a complaint with the Tennessee Department of Health. The state will investigate and decide if any disciplinary action will need to be taken in regards to Dr. Sweo's diagnosis.
