When I think of pocket knives I think of my Papa, he was never without one. Whether it was used as a screwdriver, finger nail cleaner, letter opener, boot scraper there was always a use he had for his Old Timer.

I carry a pocket knife with me pretty regularly and I always look out for pocket knives of all shapes and sizes. There is a pretty tight group of us that trade and give each other knives that we find or buy up.

I don't think a pocket knife is just a knife, I think it carries all the memories that I have remembering my Papa sitting on the front swing out in the country and either telling a story or giving some advice on whatever was on my mind.

A box and piece of paper isn't the only thing that comes with a new pocket knife when it is given to someone, it's a hand shake, a hug and respect that comes with something that is carried in our pockets.

Always be in the look out for a pocket knife and carry it in your vehicle or in your pocket, and pass it along to someone, there isn't a better feeling than passing along a pocket knife to someone because I promise they will remember it forever.
