After releasing their latest album 'Kindly Bent To Free Us' earlier this year, progressive legends Cynic will be embarking on a North American tour in support of the disc (dates below).

The band has a handful of concerts in July, with a few more in August, including the Heavy Montreal festival. Lesser Key will be opening on all dates. We Are The City will be on the July shows, with The Reign of Kindo playing the ones in August.

Cynic made headlines earlier this week after members Paul Masvidal and Sean Reinert publicly come out as being gay in a new interview.

“Gay people are everywhere, doing every job, playing every kind of music and we always have been,” Reinert says. “It’s taken me years to finally be brave enough to say, ‘If you have a problem with that, then throw out our records. That’s your problem, not mine.’”

Bandmate Sean Malone (bass) was also quoted in the L.A. Times interview, saying, "What I'm proud of is that Paul and Sean know that this isn't really about them — it's about the kid out there who is struggling and suffering in silence, and that for him or her, this conversation might be a source of encouragement."
