Overkill have been forced to drop off their 'Dark Roots of Thrash' tour with fellow legends Testament due to health issues with singer Bobby Blitz. Diagnosed with walking pneumonia, the wailing Overkill vocalist was unable to perform in Huntington, N.Y. on Feb. 15. Overkill remained hopeful that Blitz could return to the stage sometime during the tour, but Blitz's condition has worsened to the point where he can not perform.
Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante has bowed out of the band's upcoming Australia tour dates due to "personal issues." The news broke on Feb. 18 via Scott Ian's Twitter account, with the guitarist explaining that Benante "can't leave the country" right now and will be replaced by Jon Dette.
Testament took the stage at Huntington, New York's Paramount Theatre Friday night (Feb. 15) with the primary goal of filming and recording the experience for an upcoming DVD and live album. In all, the band clocked in a 90-minute-plus performance and a set list from the show has now surfaced.
