Selena Cups Sell Out in Midland / Odessa

As some of you know I have a big girl job at a local oil and gas company here in Midland.  Anyway, so the money guy (I’m sure he has a much more professional sounding title I just don’t remember it at the moment) for our department came to work complaining about being tired...

‘Alien: Covenant’ Trailer: Get Ready to Scream, Whether Anyone Can Hear You Or Not

Poor Billy Crudup doesn’t seem to know he’s in an Alien movie, the first one with that word in the title in a decade. Though this was initially billed as a sequel to Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s recent prequel to his most enduring sci-fi franchise, the latest trailer for Alien: Covenant makes almost no attempt to connect to that film, other than the presence of Michael Fassbender as another android like the one he played in Prometheus. Instead it looks more like a straight-ahead Alien do-over, with Katherine Waterston in the central female role.

Christopher Nolan Teases ‘Dunkirk’s Unusual Structure

Christopher Nolan has never made a war movie before. But befitting a director who has left an indelible mark on the superhero and science-fiction genres, it sounds like Nolan is very much not playing it safe with Dunkirk, his upcoming film about a crucial World War II battle. Nolan gave one of his first interviews about the movie to the French magazine Premiere (via The Playlist), where he revealed that movie would not be a straightforward interpretation of the events that engulfed British forces in the spring of 1940. Here’s what he had to say (assuming that a detail here or there might have been lost in the translation from the original French):

Razzies Name ‘Hillary’s America’ and ‘Batman v Superman’ the Worst Films of 2016

The Razzies are a tough award show to love. Oh, I’m sure plenty of people probably read the headline to this article and  —  depending on their opinion of both Dinesh D’Souza and the DC Cinematic Universe  —  found great comfort in the public mockery of Hillary’s America and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But while awards shows in general might serve the noble purpose of raising awareness about powerful films, the annual Razzies Awards often feel like you’re kicking someone when they’re already down. They’ve already flopped with audiences and critics; throwing a Razzie award at them is the Hollywood equivalent of kicking them when they’re down.

‘Deadpool’ Comic Creator Has His Glowing Eye on Russell Crowe for ‘Deadpool 2’

Casting rumors come in two major flavors. On the one hand, you have concrete news about actors meeting with executives and filmmakers to discuss their participation in upcoming productions. Not all fan rumors end up at the first stage, but it is true that some social media rumors have actually ended up with the actor being offered the role.
