The last night of the 2013 season of Monday Night Football tonight will also be the last regular season game in Candlestick Park as the San Francisco 49ers say goodbye to their home since 1971.

There is a possibility that there could be a post season game in Candlestick, but it is not very likely.

San Francisco is currently seeded as the 5th spot in the 2013 NFC playoff picture, which means the only way they could host another game is if them and the 6th seed survive all the way to the NFC Championship game.

According to ESPN.com, "since 1990, a No. 5 seed has never hosted a No. 6 seed in a title game."  So chances are the last game will be tonight in Candlestick before the 49ers start playing in their new stadium, Levi's® Stadium, in Santa Clara, California beginning with the 2014 season.

The San Francisco Giants baseball team also used to occupy Candlestick Park, but they moved in the 2000 season to their new home of Pacific Bell Park, now known as AT&T Park.

Candlestick Park has also been known as "3com Park," and "Monster Park," before being officially restored as "Candlestick Park" by public ballot in March 2008.
