If your preferred lawn mowing day and time is Sunday after 4 p.m., and you happen to live in and live in a specific suburb of Montreal, Canada you should know that you may be breaking a new noise complaint bylaw.

Kevin Beasse mowed his lawn on a Sunday evening and received a $270 ticket the following week.Outraged, he tried to fight the ticket and said some choice words that netted him another $148 on top of that.

The city claims that they have given enough notice of the new law, and that a warning would not be appropriate in this case and the fine will stand.

Kevin now faces over $400 in fines stemming from trimming the grass in front of his house on the wrong day of the week at the wrong time. Ridiculous.
