Andy Biersack has made quite a name for himself in recent years rocking as the frontman of Black Veil Brides. But Biersack is ready to show another side of himself utilizing the moniker Andy Black for his new side project.

The first new song and video from Andy Black has surfaced online and it's called 'They Don't Need to Understand.' The verses fall more in the dark wave vein, while Biersack gets a chance to show the power in his voice once the uplifting chorus kicks in.

The vocalist belts, "We're always running away / And we don't even stop to think about it / The world's in our hands / Yeah, they don't need to understand / We do it our own way / No matter what they try to say about it / We've got our own plans / Yeah, they don't need to understand."

Biersack recently stated that he is influenced by new wave and dark wave bands like Depeche Mode and Sisters of Mercy, and that instead of injecting those influences into Black Veil Brides, he decided to venture out with his Andy Black project. "There's no place for Depeche Mode and the Sisters of Mercy in the music I make with my band. If I was a fan, I wouldn't want to hear that on a Black Veil Brides record. It was more important for me and for the integrity of the band not to tarnish it."

The rocker said upon announcing the project that it would not interfere with Black Veil Brides and that it is merely a passion project that everyone in the group is fine with.
