Birthday Parties Sure Have Changed

Birthdays partied have seriously changed since I was a kid. I remember when a cake, a few kids and some balloons were all you needed to pull off a successful birthday party.  Nowadays I'm seeing posts on Facebook of kids with elephant rides and trapeze performers, mom's ordering thousand dollar custom cakes, doling out gift bags chuck full of specifically themed toys and such (since when do you give presents out to guests at a birthday party?). My little ones birthday is coming up and I'm over here thinking "girl you need to stop at the dollar tree real quick on the way to HEB for the cake and you're good to go!".
