Are Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and husband actor Josh Duhamel really big Guns N’ Roses fans? Well, the Hollywood couple just named their brand new baby boy Axl, and we only know one other Axl around these parts -- of course that would be elusive Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose.

While the news conjures up images of one very rock 'n' roll infant, is it just a coincidence that their new bundle of joy shares a name with one of rock’s most notorious frontmen? Not at all. Fergie is, in fact, a big GN'R fan. "Some of my biggest vocal idols are rock 'n' roll. I mean Sebastian Bach, Vince Neil, Axl Rose, Robert Plant," Fergie told Us Magazine in 2010. "These are people that I have emulated vocally ... I saw Guns N' Roses and Metallica when I was in high school. I have been a fan of theirs for years."

Also, there was that time that Fergie performed the Guns N’ Roses song ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ at the 2011 Super Bowl halftime show alongside guitarist Slash, so she definitely has some love for the legendary band.

Duhamel commented on the name of their baby boy before he arrived, telling People, “Some people may not like it, some people may think it’s really cool, but we don’t really care — that’s why we’re not telling anybody.”

A healthy Axl Jack Duhamel was born today (Aug. 29), weighing in at 7 pounds and 10 ounces. Congratulations to Fergie and Josh and hey, give us a call when baby Axl forms his first band!
