If you're one of the many Guns N' Roses fans who wish guitarist Izzy Stradlin was part of the group's current partial reunion tour, take heart — frontman Axl Rose is right there with you.

Rose opened up about Stradlin's absence from GNR's Not in This Lifetime Tour during a recent interview conducted prior to the band's fall run of South American dates — though he professed not to know much more about Stradlin's state of mind than anyone else.

"I don't really know what to say about Izzy," shrugged Rose. "It's like you could have a conversation and think it's one way, and the next day it's another way. And I'm not trying to take any shots at Izzy. It's just his thing is kind of his thing, whatever that is."

9/7 Update: Izzy Stradlin has seemingly responded to Rose's comments via Twitter, declaring "Bulls--t. They didn't want to split the loot equally. Simple as that. Moving right along.." (Two disclaimers: Stradlin doesn't specifically say who or what his tweet is in response to, and his Twitter account is unverified. However, Rolling Stone previously confirmed via e-mails and a phone message that it is indeed Stradlin who operates @IzzyStradlin999)

Also a presumable question mark is former GNR drummer Steven Adler, who's appeared sparingly on the tour — something Rose said was the result of a health issue. "I have no idea," he said to the question of whether Adler's involvement might continue. "When this started, Steven had just had back surgery and stuff, so I don't have any idea about that."

The whereabouts of Stradlin and Adler were just one of many topics Rose and bassist Duff McKagan delved into during the interview, which also touched on the hows and whys of Rose reconnecting with McKagan and former GNR guitarist Slash. "I went down to rehearsal, and everything just sounded right," Rose recalled of their first attempt to see if the old chemistry still clicked. "And we just went to work. It was time to sing, see what the sound sounded like and stuff and get ready for the show, and it was all working."
